Beginning in bustling Copenhagen, with a city tour and a taste of the gourmet capital, the coach makes it way across to Oslo. After checking out Norway's capital, journey through the Hallingdal valley of pine forests, lakes and the start of Norway's incredible fjords. Bergen, the gateway to the fjords, was an important trading port throughout history and has a fascinating medieval old town Bryggen, which you will tour around.
Around Bergen enjoy the stunning scenery on the panoramic Flam railway journey through the mountain tops or a ferry across Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord of Norway. The World Heritage listed Geirangerfjord is breathtaking, with sheer mountains disappearing into the deep turquoise below.
Back to Oslo and then over to the sparkling Stockholm archipelago for a city tour and then Tallinn and the beautifully preserved Latin Quarter of the medieval Old Town. In Helsinki enjoy a sightseeing tour of the incredible rock carved Temppeliaukio Church. Next we head east to Russia and the old capital of St Petersburg, with beautiful baroque and roccoco architecture of onion domes and spires. From St Petersburg enjoy a daytrip to the stunning Peterhof palace and grounds, inspired by Versailles but impressive in its own right, then a rustic Russian lunch. Take a hydrofoil down to the amazing Hermitage museum and castle complex for a guided tour of the impressive site, containing more than 3000 works of art.
Catch the train to Moscow, through the Volga River landscapes of picturesque Russia, with old farmsteads and beautiful scenery. In Moscow enjoy a sightseeing tour and then a day spent at the Kremlin.
On the Dance of the Midnight Sun package, which includes a module from the popular Fabulous Scandinavia and Helsinki, enjoy a 17 day journey through the Arctic Circle in Lapland and learn about the fascinating Sami culture. Begin in Rovaniemi, the home of Christmas. Visit Sant Claus Village and roam among tame reindeer of the local Sami people, while you can learn local customs and farming techniques from the Sami, with lasso lessons, a lavvo (traditional dwelling) visit and a three course Lappish lunch.
