The coastal voyage was experienced at its best with superb weather on all but 2 days, a half empty ship, small groups on shore excursions, no other cruise ships in fiords and the country looking fantastic with snow covered peaks and spring blossoms, new leaves and bulbs in the south gradually changing to no grass yet and still frozen lakes in the north. The food on the ship was plentiful and delicious, the tour director good fun and the shore excursions most worthwhile. We did abstain from alcohol in Norway as $15 for a beer and more for a glass of wine, let alone a bottle was a bit much for us. Their Kroner is just too strong and we found everything very expensive; however, the people are wonderful - always helpful and friendly, speaking perfect English.
Our Iceland trip was a pleasant surprise as far as local prices were concerned which were about the same as here because of the drop in the value of their currency. Again we were blessed with perfect blue sunny skies for our first three days there when we had our excursions also in small groups and the amazing scenery made quite an impression on us. The last two grey, rainy days did not matter as we went whale watching ( no success) and to the Blue Lagoon. My husband took about 700 photos!
So thank you for your efficient booking of everything and we will certainly be recommending the trip to all our friends.
regards Cora and Tony
