She suggested that I consider the ‘King of the Fjords’ tour which includes two nights in the idyllic village of Balestrand. I’m so glad I did. Staying in that exquisitely beautiful village on the edge of the fjord was the highlight of my trip. The view from my hotel window was stunning – the fjord, snow-capped mountains in the distance, the village church and colourful wooden dwellings. “This is a must-do experience”, as a fellow traveller commented. I can fully recommend this tour. The train trip was outstanding and full of interest, including the local tourist train that takes you down to the little village of Flam. And so much more – visiting Bergen is incredible too with its cobblestone streets and historic wooden buildings.
Everything went so smoothly on my trip from the preparation in Australia to actually experiencing it. Helen was extremely efficient and helpful in organising my itinerary, tours and hotel accommodation – and the voucher system worked very well.
