"The meals were very good and we were seated near the window and with good dinner companions who spoke English. We really liked the relaxed life aboard the ship, without all the normal razzmatazz of a cruise. There are many lovely sitting areas on board and it was all very pleasant. We hadn't realised that the voyage is mostly on inland water and that you are not really on the open sea except for a short bit at the end). It was very smooth all the way."
"In the afternoon at Kirkenes our guide, Odjan, picked us up for the King Crab excursion."
"We were taken for an extensive drive where he told us all about the town and its history. Our guide kitted us out in very warm gear and then took us out on the fjord in a small boat to get the crabs out of the traps. They really were quite large! We were then taken to another spot beside the lake where our guide cooked the crabs in a big kettle over a wood fire. It was a lovely leisurely time and we really enjoyed ourselves."
