Itinerary

December 23      Arrive Rovaniemi
You won’t feel the Arctic cold after a warm welcome from your Christmas hostess at the airport or railway station. Transfer to the hotel, stopping on the way to collect your winter clothing: thermo-overall, woollen socks, boots, mittens and a scarf. At check-in, children receive their ‘Passport’, to be stamped at activities over the next few days. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon sauna followed by a welcome dinner. (D)

December 24     Christmas Eve
Forest animals guide your coach along a winding trail towards Santa’s secret hideaway! Keep your eyes open for traces of Santa’s sleigh as well as the different animals of the forest as the track leads you to a small cabin deep in the woods for Christmas Eve snacks and activities. Join Santa’s little helpers for some tree decorating, then take a reindeer for a test drive to earn yourself an exclusive ‘International Reindeer Driver’s License’. Cross the Arctic Circle before following the trail back to your hotel to enjoy a traditional Finnish Christmas Dinner. After the meal, Santa Claus will take some time out from his busy schedule to deliver presents to the children. (BD)

December 25      Christmas Day
After sleeping off your Christmas feast, you have the option of joining in a traditional Lutheran church service, delivered in Finnish. Then experience a white Christmas with a difference at the ‘Snowfun’ park. Venture out on a snowmobile safari or cruise the woods on a 4-wheeled forest scooter. Shoot down the hill on a toboggan, kicksled, or skis, and join in a round of ice golf or snow hockey. Chill out with a spot of ice fishing or kick back by the campfire with a hot drink. You can even fry sausages and enjoy hot soup in a Sami-style tepee. Return to the hotel for an international Christmas Day dinner buffet this evening. (BD)

December 26      Boxing Day
Visit the Arktikum Science Centre & Museum, a one-of-a-kind venue where the whole family can learn about the history, culture and traditions of the Arctic region. The tour continues with a visit to Santa Claus´ Village, where you can shop for handicrafts and send a postcard home from Santa’s very own post office! Enjoy lunch in a cosy restaurant before returning to the hotel. (BLD)

December 27      Depart Rovaniemi
